A 24-year-old Bethlehem man was sentenced to life in prison for the 2022 robbery and shooting death of a woman in the city.

On Tuesday, Marquis Michael Watkins was sentenced by Northampton County Court of Common Pleas Judge Judge Anthony Beltrami to serve life without the possibility of parole.

Watkins in October was found guilty following a jury trial of felony criminal homicide; two counts felony aggravated assault; felony robbery, and firearms offenses in the killing that claimed 21-year-old Jani Bostic of East Stroudsburg, Monroe County.

The Northampton County Prosecutor’s Office announced the sentencing Tuesday afternoon. Stroudsburg-based defense attorney Janet Jackson, representing Watkins, couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
