CLEVELAND — Hakeem-Ali Shomo, one of six people charged in the 2021 torture and murder of Alishah Pointer in East Cleveland, was found guilty by a jury on Tuesday.
Shomo is the last of the six defendants to either be convicted or plead guilty to charges related to Pointer's death.
According to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office, Shomo, 34, was found guilty of the following:
Two counts of aggravated murder
Two counts of murder
Two counts of felonious assault
Four counts of kidnapping
One count of conspiracy
In addition, Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Mollie Ann Murphy found Shomo guilty of one count of having weapons under disability. Shomo will be sentenced on Jan. 7 at 10 a.m.
