The Los Angeles Chargers will be getting a key piece back soon.

Head coach Jim Harbaugh announced that the practice window is being opened for rookie running back Omarion Hampton, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported on Tuesday.

Hampton has been sidelined with an ankle injury that he suffered in Week 5 against the Washington Commanders, leaving the Chargers with a shallow running back room after off-season acquisition Najee Harris was also injured early on in the season. Harris tore his Achilles in Week 3 against the Denver Broncos and has been ruled out for the season.

Kimani Vidal has become the starting running back in Hampton’s absence, and has taken advantage of the opportunity, rushing for 417 yards and two touchdowns through six games.
