If you happened to feel some light shaking in your house late Friday night, you may have been among dozens of New Jerseyans who felt a small earthquake .

A quake with a magnitude of 1.8 occurred at 11:22 p.m. Friday and was centered about 3.1 miles west-southwest of Gladstone in Somerset County, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The USGS, which tracks daily earthquake activity across the world, received reports from about 150 people in New Jersey who said they felt Friday’s quake.

The vast majority of the reports came in from Somerset, Hunterdon and Morris counties, but one came in from Mercer County and two from Bergen County — about 40 miles away from the epicenter.
