KENT COUNTY, Mich. — 68-year-old Thomas Webber was arraigned Tuesday on one count of animal killed and torture.

Webber is accused of shooting his neighbor's dog with a crossbow back in October, resulting in the dog's death.

The dog's owner had found their porch covered in blood. The dog had been hiding under the porch steps.

According to court documents, Webber admitted to shooting the dog when he spoke with detectives.

The documents state Webber had been hunting on his property when the neighbor's two dogs wandered onto the property, a black lab and an Australian Shepherd.

He shot the lab with the crossbow, according to an incident report.
