P3R, the organization behind the Pittsburgh Marathon, has announced its inaugural Giving Tuesday 5K run, set for Dec. 2 at 6 a.m.
The 5K becomes P3R’s latest event to join its “Run for a Reason” charity program, which includes mainstays like the marathon, half marathon and marathon relay. The program has raised more than $18 million for P3R’s more than 40 partner charities since it began in 2009.
“Giving Tuesday is a powerful reminder of what our community can accomplish when we move together with purpose,” P3R CEO Troy Schooley said in a release. “Our charity runners are the heartbeat of this program, and this event gives us a chance to celebrate the impact they make every single year.”
