NORFOLK, Va. — As the air cools and the leaves begin to fall, autumn brings not just colorful scenery but also new dangers for drivers. Seasonal changes in weather and road conditions can make fall one of the trickier times of year to navigate safely.
One of the biggest hazards comes from fallen leaves. While they may look harmless, wet leaves can be as slippery as ice , creating a serious risk for cars traveling at high speeds or attempting sudden stops.
