What will winter look like in Portland and beyond?

Well, according to the newest outlook released from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Climate Prediction Center, pretty average.

La Niña winter , at least for now, is giving the Portland area equal chances of standard winter weather from December through February.

But what is normal?

According to Tom Schuldt, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Portland, the average daily high temperature at the Portland International Airport in December is around 47 degrees, while the average daily low temperature is about 36.

Most of the Portland area is looking at an equal chance of colder or warmer-than-average temperatures for the next three months.
