Politicians love to say they don't take money from corporate political action committees or billionaires, even when some actually do.

The Detroit News reports that Democratic Detroit Congressman Shri Thanedar is telling voters that he's not taking campaign donations from corporate PACs or billionaires when, in fact, he is.

So far this year, The News reports, he has received contributions from at least three PACs with corporate ties: the Detroit-based utility DTE Energy Co. and defense contractors Honeywell International and General Dynamics.
