Two pedestrians were severely injured when a vehicle struck them, New York State Police announced on Tuesday, Nov. 25, at about 5:18 p.m.

Troopers responded to the area of Charlton Road near the intersection of Maple Avenue in Charlton, for reports of a vehicle that hit two people, according to a press release. Both pedestrians suffered severe injuries and were taken to area hospitals for treatment, state police said.

Charlton Road is closed between Stage Road and Swaggertown Road for the ongoing investigation and collision reconstruction, according to the release.

The case is being handled by New York State Police Troop G. Media inquiries are being directed to Public Information Officer Trooper Stephanie O’Neil.
