At 12:59 a.m. on Wednesday, the National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory valid from Thursday 10 a.m. until Friday 7 p.m. for Southern Franklin.

The weather service states to expect, "Total snow accumulations between 3 and 7 inches. Winds gusting as high as 30 to 40 mph."

"Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact holiday commuters," comments the weather service. "Slow down and use caution while traveling During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally heavy snow to dry weather just a few miles away. Visibilities can also vary greatly. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather, visibility, and road conditions."
