A Queen Creek woman has been named the new chief executive officer of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona (BBBSAZ).
Debbie Castillo-Smith, who was appointed yesterday, has led the organization on an interim basis since April.
During that time, she has been “providing steady leadership, strategic direction, and a deep commitment to the agency’s mission during this transition period,” the nonprofit said in a release.
“In her permanent role, she will continue guiding the organization into its next chapter of growth, impact, and innovation. “
Castillo-Smith has been part of the BBBSAZ team since September 2007 and has served in a variety of roles throughout her tenure, including working directly with matches, recruiting volunteers, and facilitating trainings for volunteers, parents
