For Billy Crocker and his Eastern football players, a Middle Atlantic Conference title and a berth in the NCAA Division III football tournament was certainly in the constellation of goals entering the 2025 season.
Surprise that it has come to fruition doesn’t quite capture it. The notion that it’s ahead of schedule, though, for a program in just its third full season, is hard to refute.
Whatever the zoomed-out view of what the Eagles have accomplished this season, they’re not interested in just taking a scenic drive to Lancaster on Saturday at noon when they meet Franklin & Marshall in the second round of the Division III tournament.
