Search Underway For 19-Year-Old Jumps From Route 72 Bridge: Stafford Police

A large search operation is underway after a motorist reported seeing someone jump from the Route 72 Causeway Bridge on Tuesday, Nov. 25, authorities said

A caller contacted law enforcement and reported they had witnessed a subject jump off the bridge around 10:10 p.m., Stafford Township police said. Responding officers found an unoccupied gray Toyota Camry at the top of the bridge,  police said. 

The car belonged to a 19-year-old male from Monmouth County, police said.

A coordinated search operation, including the Coast Guard and New Jersey State Police Marine unit was underway Wednesday, Nov. 26 and helicopters, boats, and drones were expected in the area, officers said.
