Two men were arrested after detectives found hundreds of suspected oxycodone pills, ecstasy, Xanax, promethazine, marijuana packaged for sale, and drug paraphernalia inside a Jeep Wrangler, according to a press release issued Tuesday, Nov. 25.
Detectives with the Crime Suppression Bureau stopped the 2023 Jeep near Atlantic Street Park, on Friday, Nov. 21 at approximately 11:45 p.m., Detective Capt. Darrin DeWitt said.
Inside the vehicle, detectives found 733 pills of suspected oxycodone, bottles of promethazine, ecstasy, Alprazolam pills, approximately one pound of unregulated marijuana packaged for individual distribution, and drug paraphernalia, according to DeWitt.
The driver, Jermaine Small, 26, of Dayton, was arrested and charged with distribution near a public park, distribution of marijuana more than one ounce – less than 5 lbs, possession with intent to distribute promethazine, possession with intent to distribute alprazolam, possession of cds–ecstasy, receiving stolen property (oxycodone and promethazine were presumed to have been taken from a pharmacy due to packaging), and paraphernalia charges.
The passenger, Eric Barthole, 28, of North Brunswick, was arrested and charged with distribution near a public park, distribution of oxycodone, possession with intent to distribute promethazine, possession with intent to distribute alprazolam, receiving stolen property, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police said both men were processed and taken to the Bergen County Jail pending their initial appearance at Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
