A Moped rider was killed and a juvenile passenger was critically injured in a collision with a tractor-trailer in Paterson late Saturday, Nov. 22, officials said.
Police responded to Cianci Street and Market Street at 11:06 p.m., where two occupants of a black Moped were found with “significant bodily injuries,” according to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Officer-In-Charge Patrick Murray. Both victims were taken to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center, authorities said.
One of the occupants, an unidentified male, was pronounced dead while the other, a juvenile, remains in critical condition.
The crash remains under investigation. Prosecutor Valdes said the case is “active and ongoing,” and more information will be released when available.
