A Grosse Pointe emergency-room nurse was sentenced Tuesday to two years in federal prison for illegally tampering with a consumer product, fentanyl.

Travis Eskridge, 54, who was a registered nurse at Ascension St. John Hospital in Detroit, received the sentence from U.S District Judge Susan K. DeClercq after pleading guilty to one of five counts in connection with his alleged actions in 2022 at the hospital, according to Department of Justice officials. He also will served three years of supervised release, according to his plea agreement filed last May.
