LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ) - A shooting investigation by the Lynchburg Police Department has resulted in a seizure of guns and two people arrested in Lynchburg.

Two Lynchburg residents, 18-year-old Amare Scruggs and 19-year-old Octavion Taylor, were arrested on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.

Scruggs was charged with:

Reckless Handling of a Firearm

Property Damage

Child Abuse/Neglect x 5

Possession of a Stolen Firearm

Discharge of a Firearm in the City

Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling

Taylor was charged with:

Probation Violation

Absconding Probation

Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon

Possession of Ammunition by a Convicted Felon

Possession of a Stolen Firearm

Both men were served their warrants and are being held in jail without bond, according to the LPD.
