Louisvillians know the struggle of trying to find a place to park in the ever-crowded lot.

The theater on Bardstown Road always had the best blockbusters first. It was the greatest place to take a date -- especially in the high school days.

Many moviegoers experienced some of the most iconic films of their generation there, like "Star Wars" and "Indiana Jones."

According to cinematreasures.org , the theater opened in 1965.

It had a good, long run as a hot weekend spot, but eventually went defunct in the early 2000s, forced to close as bigger and better theaters moved into the area.

It sat vacant for more than a decade before it finally took new life as a Costco.
