HOLLAND, MI – Large waves and high winds, spurred on during a gull warning, produced quite a show along the lakeshore.
Waves measuring more than 10-feet-tall, whipped up by the strong wind, crashed along the piers Wednesday.
The entire West Michigan lakeshore is expected to be a flashpoint for storm-force winds as they hit as high as 57 mph. The region is under a high wind advisory until late Thursday night.
Despite the hazardous conditions, West Michiganders flocked to Holland State Park to see the resulting 12- to 16-foot waves as they crashed in.
Local teens Sebastian Dodeman, 17, and Grant Milobinski, 16, took part in some skim boarding.
