The UM System Board of Curators voted Wednesday to authorize a contract extension for head football coach Eli Drinkwitz - KSDK's Frank Cusumano was the first to report the deal and KOMU 8 Sports has confirmed the information.
The proposed contract adds two years to Drinkwitz's current deal, creating a six-year agreement that would keep him in Columbia through the 2031 season. The extension would elevate Missouri's coaching staff compensation to one of the top four in the SEC.
Additional years could be added on if Drinkwitz meets certain performance incentives.
Drinkwitz is in his sixth season leading the Tigers. His existing contract runs through 2029 and includes a $9 million annual salary.
He has not yet signed the newly proposed extension.
