At 12:43 p.m. on Thursday, the National Weather Service released a winter weather advisory valid for Friday between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. for Berkshire County.
“Total snow accumulations between 2 and 5 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. Patchy to areas of blow snow,” can be expected according to the weather service. “Snowfall will increase Friday afternoon and continue into Friday evening. Snowfall rates may briefly reach an inch an hour.”
“Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact holiday weekend travel on Friday. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches,” states the weather service. “Slow down and use caution while traveling. Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps
