MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WSMV) - What started as a check on an expired tag turned into the arrest of two wanted people.
The Mt. Juliet Police Department was patrolling Pleasant Grove Road overnight when they found a vehicle with an expired registration.
MJPD said officers quickly discovered that the tags were connected to a wanted person.
The registered owner, a 30-year-old Hermitage man, was wanted out of Rutherford County for felony theft. A passenger of the vehicle, a 31-year-old Hermitage woman, also had an active warrant from Sumner County for a violation of probation, MJPD said.
“Thanks to the officer’s proactive approach, both were taken into custody,” MJPD said in a Facebook post. “We’re proud of our team’s dedication to keeping Mt. Juliet safe.”
