A Thanksgiving meal is often one to remember — between the decadent food and the loved ones who are present — but especially when it's served to you by your superior officers. That’s how Fort Jackson does turkey day for its trainees.
On Nov. 26, Fort Jackson trainees gathered for their Thanksgiving meal. Thanksgiving on the base is a special time of year, especially for first years. Often, it's their first Thanksgiving away from home, and for some, it's spent thousands of miles across the country. In order to help alleviate some of that homesickness, Fort Jackson goes all out for the celebrations.
