ROYERSFORD, Pennsylvania (WPVI) -- Stephanie Dunn, who became a leg amputee three years ago, is willing to walk a mile to inspire others in her shoes.

In October of 2022, she contracted necrotizing fasciitis, a rare flesh-eating disease, with seemingly no explanation.

That resulted in the loss of her left leg.

Dunn, a mom of two boys who was working as a speech therapist, had her whole life turned upside-down. She had just moved to the Schwenksville area one month prior to the infection.

Yet, she knew that she would be able to build herself back through rehab and the use of prosthetics.

She leaned on the Spring Valley YMCA as a place where she could find adaptive exercise equipment and a community of people ready to support her.

And today, she decided to give back by participating
