OGDENSBURG, New York (WWNY) - Ogdensburg resident John Sneed usually cooks a Thanksgiving meal for himself and loved ones, but the rising costs put him in a tough place this holiday.
A stranger on his doorstep on Thursday gave him one less thing to worry about.
“Not a lot of people do this anymore. It’s good to see people getting out and doing this,” said Sneed.
That stranger, Tonya Shannon, is a longtime volunteer who helps the Knights of Columbus feed the community for free through their annual Thanksgiving meal.
“I like to help. I like sometimes to see the look on people’s faces as I deliver to them, how appreciative they are,” said Shannon.
She’s one of 100 volunteers who are delivering hundreds of meals this Thanksgiving, feeding those in the Ogdensburg area who can’t make it to
