Thanksgiving means it’s hockey night in Fort Wayne, as the Komets play the Kalamazoo Wings at 7 p.m. at Memorial Coliseum to continue a holiday tradition.

On a day normally dominated by football, and more recently college basketball, the only professional hockey game in North America will be played at Memorial Coliseum in a continuation of a Turkey Day tradition that started in the Komets' inaugural 1952 season.

It’s also the eighth annual Bob Chase Memorial Game, honoring the Komets’ legendary play-by-play broadcaster and his 63-year career calling Komets games for WOWO. The Komets (10-4-1) will wear special jerseys for tonight’s game, which will be available for silent auction to benefit Folds of Honor.
