MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - New York City celebrated Thursday morning as the 99th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade filled the city streets.

Viewers may have spotted a piece of Wisconsin during the parade: the Wisconsin Dells based Kalahari Resorts float.

Kalahari is celebrating 25 years with the return of its “Colossal Wave of Wonder” float.

Organizers say it takes almost a year to put the float together for the parade.

“We have special effects lighting on there to make it look really cool as it goes down the road,” Corporate Career Director for Kalahari Resorts Cary Brandt said. “It just meant to pop when it comes down the street and looks like fun and energy.”

This year marked its eighth appearance in one of the country’s most iconic holiday traditions.
