Plans to convert a Sunderland pub site into an “apart-hotel” aimed at “contractors, tourists and short-term business stays” have been submitted to council development bosses.
Sunderland City Council’s planning department has received an application for The Blue House site in the Hendon ward.
The building sits between Corporation Road and Commercial Road and is also known for the Frank Styles mural of Raich Carter on the site’s gable end, which served as a backdrop to scenes in Netflix docuseries Sunderland ‘Til I Die.
