The works involve both utility repairs and highway maintenance, and will impact routes across the town and surrounding villages.
On Neasham Road at Hurworth Moor, near the entrance to the Olive Tree, two-way signals will be in operation as highway repair and maintenance works are carried out.
The works, which include trial holes for culvert works, are scheduled to run from November 24 to November 28.
Motorists using this route should be prepared for possible delays due to the traffic controls.
