Supermarket chain Asda has issued an urgent recall for its 10 Mini Duck Spring Rolls with Hoisin Dip, warning customers not to consume the product due to an incorrect use-by date. The affected packs, weighing 220g, have been labelled with a use-by date of December 29, 2025, instead of the correct date of November 29, 2025. This mislabelling renders the product unsafe for consumption after the correct date, raising concerns about potential food poisoning. Asda announced the recall on Thursday, November 27, stating, "If you have bought the above product do not consume it. Instead, please return it to your nearest store for a full refund." Customers are advised that they do not need to present a receipt when returning the product. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has also been involved in the alert, emphasising that the recall is necessary due to the risk posed by the incorrect use-by date. The FSA issues recalls when food products are deemed unsafe for consumption, which can occur for various reasons, including incorrect allergy labelling or other health risks. Asda has assured customers that point of sale notices will be displayed in all stores selling the product, providing information on the recall and instructions for returning the item. For further assistance, customers can contact Asda Customer Relations at 0800 952 0101. This recall follows a recent incident where Asda recalled the Hapello Sensory Roller toy due to a choking hazard. The Office for Product Safety and Standards had warned that the toy could release a small piece of plastic, posing a risk to young children. Asda continues to prioritise customer safety and urges anyone who has purchased the Mini Duck Spring Rolls to return them immediately.
