A New Britain man recently received a nine-month prison sentence for threats he made against a state parole officer.

Alex Vasquez, also known as Luis Irizarry, 40, was sentenced on Nov. 20 by Judge Michael J. Gustafson after he was found guilty of second-degree threatening on Nov. 12, according to a release from the Connecticut Division of Criminal Justice .

Court records show that, in November 2024, Vasquez was using digital communications, electronic surveillance and physical surveillance to harass a parole officer.

In January 2025, when Vasquez was taken into custody for unrelated violations, officers reportedly found him with photographs of the parole officer’s home and work vehicle, according to court records. Parole officers also rep
