Part of the A90 in Aberdeenshire remains closed for a third day after the discovery of a body near the dual carriageway.

One lane of the northbound section at Marykirk is still close as emergency services continue their work at the scene where the body was found. Police Scotland confirmed the tragic discovery between Brechin and Laurencekirk , with the family of a missing Merseyside man informed.

Kenneth Unsworth had been reported missing from his home in Huyton, with the 46-year-old believed to have travelled to the north-east. A major search was launched before police announced the body's discovery on Wednesday, November 26, just off the A90, with the death being treated as unexplained and enquiries ongoing.
