NAPLES, Fla. – U.S. Sen. Rick Scott said his home in Naples was targeted Thanksgiving morning in an attempted swatting incident.

Scott said in a post on X that he received a call from law enforcement that there was “another attempted swatting incident” on his family’s home.

Swatting is when someone makes a false report to police to garner a large law enforcement presence, often including SWAT teams, at a specific location.

Scott said he wasn’t home at the time and everyone was safe. It’s not known if anyone was home at the time of the incident.

Naples police said the attempted swatting was reported by email. Officers responded to Scott’s home and said it was clear.
