Approximately 10,500 runners and walkers braved cold temperatures and brisk winds Thursday to take part in the 130th annual YMCA Buffalo Niagara Turkey Trot, the longest consecutively run footrace in the world. Following the race, participants and volunteers celebrated at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center with a post-race party and award ceremony. Proceeds from the race are used to provide financial assistance to children and families in need in Western New York, as well as community outreach programs and funds that go toward services and programs for youth development and healthy living.
