The North East killers who were recently released from prison

Many people believe that a life sentence given to a murderer should see them locked up for the rest of their days. But it's not uncommon for offenders to finally get a taste of freedom after spending years behind bars, if the Parole Board deems them fit for release.

Recently, there have been a handful of killers who committed heinous crimes that are now back in society - despite concerns from family members of victims. One murderer was locked-up for life with a minimum of 15-and-a-half years for stabbing a dad-to-be to death in Newcastle , whereas another offender brutally killed a doctor in a violent hammer attack. Both have been deemed fit for release, among other offenders.
