A 49-year-old woman was sadly pronounced dead after being hit by a lorry on the A66
A woman has tragically lost her life after being struck by a lorry on the A66 in Middlesbrough. The emergency services were called to the eastbound A66 near Riverside Retail Park following reports of a road traffic accident.
The pedestrian, aged 49, was hit by a large goods vehicle travelling east on the carriageway. Paramedics arrived at the scene on the A66 at 4.40pm on Thursday, November 27, but sadly, she was declared dead.
The eastbound A66 was shut for around seven hours while initial collision investigations took place at the scene. The police are now appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to step forward.
