The National Weather Service issued a report at 7:43 a.m. on Friday for lake effect snow bands until 11 a.m. for Chemung, Tioga, Broome and Delaware counties.
"Ongoing lake effect snow bands will continue through the morning hours. If traveling, watch out for rapidly changing conditions including slippery roads and low visibility. Snow amounts will be up to 2 inches by late morning, which is enough to cause slick spots, especially at higher elevations. Some blowing snow may occur as well, with gusts to 35 mph," adds the weather service.
