An updated weather alert was issued by the National Weather Service on Friday at 7:43 a.m. for lake effect snow bands until 11 a.m. for Northern Wayne as well as Bradford and Susquehanna counties.

"Ongoing lake effect snow bands will continue through the morning hours. If traveling, watch out for rapidly changing conditions including slippery roads and low visibility. Snow amounts will be up to 2 inches by late morning, which is enough to cause slick spots, especially at higher elevations. Some blowing snow may occur as well, with gusts to 35 mph," according to the weather service.
