A report from the National Weather Service was issued on Friday at 5:25 a.m. for lake effect snow until 7:30 a.m. for Schuyler, Chemung, Tompkins, Tioga, Broome and Delaware counties.
"Ongoing lake effect snow will continue through the morning the commute. If traveling, watch out for rapidly changing conditions including slippery roads and occasionally low visibility. Amounts will be generally light, yet enough to cause slick spots, especially at higher elevations. Some blowing snow may occur as well, with gusts to 30 mph," says the weather service.
