The Grange Harvest Home Festival was held in the last week of November 1925. The event brought in around $200 (or about $3,600 today) for the Grange. Festivalgoers participated in an auction, dancing and drawing competitions.

The sheriff’s office continued to be plagued by “farm animals roaming at large.” In the last week of November 1950, law enforcement officers in Washougal rounded up two sorrel horses seen wandering all over town. The owner was said to be in Idaho, and the two equines “refused to remain in the pasture.” The loose horses were handed over to Ned Chamming, chairman of the county’s proposed humane society, which was being organized.
