Detectives are assessing new information in the unsolved 1999 murder of BBC presenter Jill Dando, after a Daily Mirror investigation linked Serbian assassin Milorad Ulemek to the shooting.

Police are examining newly a newly uncovered photo of Ulemek wearing a distinctive striped tie that appears to match one worn by an unidentified man - "Man X" - caught on CCTV on the suspected escape route minutes after the murder.

Cold case officers are expected to locate and review the original CCTV footage and use modern forensic imaging to determine whether Ulemek should be treated as a suspect.
