Syracuse, N.Y. - People traveling in Central New York for Black Friday can expect several inches of snow and strong wind gusts to create blowing and drifting conditions, according to the National Weather Service.

A lake effect snow warning has been put into effect for Onondaga, Madison and Oneida counties, according to the weather service.

Anywhere from 2 to 8 inches of snow is expected to pile up Friday across Onondaga and Oswego counties as wind gusts could reach nearly 40 mph.

In Madison and Oneida counties, up to 11 inches of snow could fall, according to the weather service.
