Parts of northern Michigan could see additional lake effect snow as a winter storm lingers Friday, Nov. 28, bringing up to 7 inches of snowfall in the eastern Upper Peninsula, the National Weather Service said.
Winter storm warnings and advisories are in place across the eastern U.P. and parts of northern and western Michigan.
This comes as after a winter storm brought high winds and heavy lake effect snow to Michigan, particularly the western U.P., this Thanksgiving week, with 31.3 inches of snowfall in Hurley by Nov. 27, per the NWS.
While the western U.P. and most regions across western Michigan and the tip of the Thumb are set for light snowfall, a half-inch or less, the eastern U.P. and part of northern Michigan will see more snow, with forecast snowfall up to over 7 inch
