A winter storm is expected to drop more snow this weekend across Michigan, creating dangerous post-Thanksgiving travel. Winter storm warnings and watches are in place.

"Lake effect snow will gradually wind down today (Nov. 28). Several inches of additional accumulation are likely in the northwest flow areas, resulting in slick travel conditions," said the Gaylord National Weather Service on Nov. 28. "As the lake effect snow ends tonight, another storm system will push toward the Great Lakes. This will bring widespread snow to the area Saturday night (Nov. 29) into Sunday (Nov 30)."
