STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A small burst of winter weather is on its way for Staten Island next week — but you won’t need to get your shovels out just yet, according to forecasters.
A storm system will move quickly over the New York City area on Tuesday, Dec. 2, leading to a wintry mix of snow and rain for much of the day, AccuWeather.com senior meteorologist Carl Erickson told the Advance/SILive.com.
“It doesn’t look like a lot of snow, given the storm track, but as we go into Tuesday, especially toward daybreak, there’s probably just enough cold air in place to have some wet snow mixing in, then rain for a couple of hours on Tuesday morning,” said Erickson.
Given most of the precipitation will occur early Tuesday, commuters could expect some reduced visibility during the morning rush hou
