The New York Times reports that the Trump administration will not commemorate World AIDS Day and that the State Department has directed staff and grantees not to spend any funds on its commemoration. There are hundreds of thousands of Americans, like me, long-term survivors living with AIDS, feeling as if we’re being kicked to the curb. Maybe because of the attitude that, “No one gets AIDS anymore.” Even a Google search said as much: “AIDS: an outdated term. AIDS is a manageable disease.” I am, we are #StillHere!
