A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a tractor-trailer in Allentown, authorities announced on Friday, Nov. 28.
Luis A. Cruz, 46, of Allentown, was pronounced dead at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest on Wednesday, Nov. 26 at 4:40 p.m., according to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office.
Cruz was hit when a tractor-trailer reportedly backed up along the 700 block of West Linden Street at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, investigators said.
His cause of death was listed as complications of blunt force injuries from a pedestrian–motor vehicle collision, and the manner of death was ruled accidental, the coroner’s office said.
The incident remains under investigation by the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office and the Allentown Police Department.
