A Year 12 student has died at a school formal in Queensland.

Emergency services were called to a venue in Brisbane on the evening of Tuesday, November 18, after the student from Wellington Point State High School was found unresponsive, an online memorial website states.

The teenager had died after falling from the roof of one of the buildings at the venue, according to the Daily Mail, and it was reported classmates witnessed the incident.

Police have confirmed the death was sudden and non-suspicious.

The school informed parents of the “distressing event” in a letter, urging them to encourage their children not to post about the incident on social media.
