Oregon State was still sitting on one of the last open chairs in the FBS coaching carousel after parting ways with Trent Bray back in October. But the Beavers finally made their move, and it’s a big-time pickup in Corvallis.
According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Oregon State has locked in a five-year deal with Alabama’s JaMarcus Shephard, prying the assistant head coach/co-OC/wide receivers guru away from the Crimson Tide. After calling shots under Kalen DeBoer, Shephard is now stepping into the head-coach spotlight for the first time, ready to run his own program and pump some life back into the Beavs.
